Elk Mountain Homestead
The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, a non-profit wildlife conservation organization headquartered in Missoula, MT, now owns the property formerly known as the Betta Christmas Tree Farm. Our mission is to ensure the future of elk, other wildlife and their habitat. Jim and Barbara Betta wanted to be sure the property would be protected for its nature beauty and wildlife values and wanted the property protected by the Elk Foundation. The Elk Mountain Homestead is available for rent so people can enjoy the wildlife, especially elk and the scenic views of the Allegheny Mountains. Proceeds from the rental property will be used to benefit elk and other wildlife.

The rental property is a 2-story restored/remodeled furnished farmhouse containing six rooms. It has a 20’x 20’ living room with fireplace and furniture, and a fully equipped kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker and seating for eight people. There are 3 bedrooms that can sleep up to 10 people. There are two showers and one bathroom.
It is located in Benezette, PA, the heart of the Pennsylvania elk range, and the property is a feeding and bedding area for some of the most majestic elk.
Base Rates
Weekends - Friday to Sunday
• $172 per night. Includes 6 people
• $30 per night for each additional person
Weekdays - Sunday to Thursday
• $115 per night. Includes 6 people
• $30 per night for each additional person
• Two-night minimum stay.
Weekly - Friday to Friday
• $860 Total. Includes 6 people
• $30 per night for each additional person
Peak Period Rates
Peak periods include Memorial Day Weekend, Fourth of July Week/Weekend and Labor Day Week/Weekend through January 1.
Weekends - Friday to Sunday
• $230 per night. Includes 6 people
• $30 per night for each additional person
Weekdays - Sunday to Thursday
• $172 per night. Includes 6 people
• $30 per night for each additional person

• $1,100.00 Total. Includes 6 people

• Additional persons include persons 10 years or older, under 10 years old free.
• Reservations must be secured with a deposit of 50% of the total cost.
• Balance due upon arrival date.
• Reservation deposits are refundable if cancelled 3 months prior to rental start date.
• Reservations accepted up to one year in advance.
• Refundable security deposit of $150 and a signed waiver of liability at check-in.
• Renter is responsible for all damages.
• All facilities are NON- SMOKING.
• No pets, horses, ATV’S or ORV’S permitted on property.
